Vanessa Kromer

Vice President of Communications, Netherland Concerts

With over two decades of entertainment publicity and special events experience, Vanessa oversees all aspects of public relations for Nederlander Concerts. Vanessa manages publicity for artists who play Nederlander’s core venues, including Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre, Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles, Statesman Skyline Theatre in Austin, City National Civic of San Jose and City National Grove of Anaheim, plus third-party facilities across the country.  She also provides strategic counsel for the company and manages all corporate communications.

In 2015, Vanessa spearheaded the media relations for the highly successful #WeAreTheGreek campaign in response to LA Recreation and Parks’ recommendation of a new operator after Nederlander’s 40 year reign at the iconic Greek Theatre.  Developed to inform, rally and give voice to the venue’s neighbors and local businesses, the campaign generated 30,000 Change.org petition signatures and rallied hundreds of home and business owners to speak at dozens of local neighborhood council meetings across the city.

Currently, Vanessa is on the Board of Directors for Music for Relief, a non-profit organization founded by two-time Grammy winning/multi-platinum rock band Linkin Park, which is dedicated to providing aid to victims of natural disasters.  She also served as the President (three years) and Vice President of Agenda (four years) for the annual Event and Arena Marketing Conference, which is the live entertainment industry’s preeminent conference in the country.  Additionally, she serves on the events committee for the Special Olympics Southern California chapter and actively participates in Grammy® Camp and the Grammy® Awards.  Vanessa is passionate about mentoring undergraduates at several Universities by participating in conferences and speaking engagements.

Vanessa was inducted into the Event & Arena Marketing Conference’s Hall of Fame in 2013 and in 2012, she received the “Women of Influence” award by Venues Today Magazine, plus made LA Confidential’s “List,” for being a person to know in Los Angeles.

Previously, Vanessa worked for Rogers & Cowan, a leading entertainment public relations firm in the Consumer, Sports and Entertainment division.  There she supervised media campaigns for a variety of high profile events garnering national media attention, including the unveiling of Wheaties Fuel (2009), the re-launch of The Fantanas for Coca-Cola (2009) and Captain Morgan for President (2008), among others.  Vanessa started her career at the Honda Center in the box office and worked her way up to Public Relations/Marketing Coordinator. From there she worked at Staples Center as the Public Relations Manager and coordinated publicity for several marquee events, including the 2000 Democratic National Convention and the NBA Los Angeles Lakers Championship games and parade (2000 and 2001).
